Project Summary

This study examines the roles of different types of establishments, and the spatial networks that connect them, in the spread of the new SARS-CoV-2.

Using zip code level infection data for the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., this study analyzes patterns including transmission and spread, characteristics of “hotspots”,  restrictions, and demographic data. The long-term objective seeks to contribute to and improve the current modeling of infectious diseases in order to better assist public health interventions both for SARS-COV-2 and beyond.
